Graveside services for Richard Chiles held at Mount Olivet Cemetery in Pauls Valley, Oklahoma, Thursday, October 18, 2018 at 1:00 P.M. Visitation with the family held at Church of Christ, Waurika, Ok, Wednesday, October 17, 2018, at 4:30 P.M. until 6:30 P.M. under the direction of Hart-Wyatt Funeral Home, Walters, OK.
Richard Ellison Chiles, Jr., DDS was born to Richard Ellison Sr. and Claire Elizabeth (Burdette) Chiles on February 23, 1938, at Sulphur, Oklahoma and departed this life at his home in Waurika, Oklahoma on October 14, 2018, at the age of 80 years, 7 months and 21 days.
Richard grew up in the Sulphur, Oklahoma area, then later moved to Stillwater, Oklahoma, where he graduated high school. He was married to Linda Lewis on September 2, 1961, at
Pauls Valley, Oklahoma and to this union 3 daughters where born.
He attended Oklahoma State University, then later attended Baylor Dental School where he graduated with a Doctor of Dental Surgery degree. While at OSU he was the President of the Lambda Chi Alpha Fraternity.
Dr. Chiles owned and operated the Waurika Dentures and Richard E Chiles, DDS business in Waurika, Oklahoma, for 50 years.
He was a member of the Waurika Church of Christ. He was a member of the American Dental Assoc. and the Oklahoma Dental Assoc. He was a 25-year member of Rotary International and was on the Waurika School Board for 14 years. Dr. Chiles also loved hunting and fishing.
Survivors include: His wife, Linda Chiles of the home, Three Daughters & sons-in-law: Cathy and Barry Wyatt of Houston, TX, Suzie and David Lebovich of Flower Mound, TX, Honey and Jason Freis of Allen, TX., One Brother: William “Pila” Chiles of New Port Beach, CA, Two Sisters: Barbara and David Hill of Burleson, Tx, Marylyn Matthew of Stillwater, OK.
Four Grand Daughters: Gabriella Wyatt, Ellie Lebovich, Ruby Freis and Olivia Freis, Other relatives and many friends.
